Where is Next Education located?

Our tutoring centre is at 34 Slade Road, Bardwell Park which is 12km from Sydney CBD, near Kingsgrove and Earlwood. Bardwell Park train station is approximately a one (1) minute walk from our centre. Bardwell Park train station is on the Airport East Hills line (T8) and is 20 minutes ride from Central station. There are trains in both directions from Bardwell Park station every 15 minutes throughout the daytime.

Do you come to my home?

Unfortunately, no.

Do you offer private (one-to-one) maths tutoring?

Unfortunately, no. Our centre offers a class based teaching structure. Class learning provides a group learning environment where a variety of problems can be discussed and solved in an informal and encouraging environment. It also allows for a syllabus to be taught which promotes structure and is intended to accelerate the student.

How big is a class?

At the moment, the average class size is 8 students.

How long is a lesson?

Year 5 lessons are one hour; Year 6 classes are 90 minutes long; Year 7, 8, 9 & 10 lessons are 2 hours; and Year 11 & 12 lessons are 2.5 hours in duration.

How often are classes held?

Tutoring classes are run on a weekly basis. We structure our timetable to fit into four (4) terms which follow the school term dates, however we only take one week break in between terms. There is a longer holiday during the December and January period.

Do you offer a discount on fees?

We believe the fees are a fair rate.  There is a discount offered if you attend more than one lesson per week eg. HSC Mathematics Extension 1 (3U) & HSC Mathematics Extension 2 (4U). There is a sibling discount available.

For all new students, the first lesson is free and intended as a trial - parents are more than welcome to sit in. We have a substantial cash incentive if you refer other student(s).

What will I learn?

The curriculum is an accelerated syllabus designed to challenge the student and learn ahead of most schools.

Ricky writes his own teaching materials complete with theory, examples, exercises, answers, topic quizzes and revision. The content is based on a wealth of resources which he has collected including text books sourced from local and overseas, plus topic theory notes. Students can benefit greatly from self practice on past exams and Ricky has a plethora of past school exam papers and past HSC exam papers. In addition, we can assist with current issues that the student is having with their school work.

What do I need to bring?

Notebook for taking theory notes and class examples, notebook for doing homework, calculator, pens and pencils, and your attention.

Is there homework?

Yes, this is to reinforce concepts taught in class and not intended to overload you. Homework should take approximately 2 hours per week maximum.
